Super Durable Super Value
I purchased this set for a 18 month old grandson who is in love with tractors. It was a great value and is a wonderful product. The tractors are a nice size, not too small or too big. They travel well and are easy for small hands to pack around. He is all boy and loves to roll the tractors down ramps, off tables, and into retaining walls. The tractors just keep going and not many toys could stand up to this very rough play. The motion of the wheels makes going down ramps fun because the wheels may turn and swoop away from the edge at the last minute or crash off the ramp. There is a lot of physics learning happening as he tries to figure out how to make the tractors do a move for a second time and how much force he need to make the vehicle go up the ramp. He loves the truck with the trailer but sadly, it does not stay together very well and requires grandparent help to re-hook. It won't be long before he figures it out, and he loves playing with the trailer even when it is not...
Great for a Monster Truck loving kid
We bought these for our son for Christmas for our son. He LOVES them. Monster trucks+John Deere=endless play. His favorite part is taking the treads off the tires, but it is good motor skill practice for him to try to get them back on.
18 mo loves these
My 18 month old loves these. i know it says for older kids but i haven't seen anything with these that have been an issue. he is really into john deere trucks and these are a really big hit with him. i first came across these when i had to get him one that was sold individually in a store to calm him down. then i came across this pack. the price is great and these trucks are awesome.

Hot Wheels R/C Terrain Twister Vehicle (Red) with Battery Pack System

Great concept but poor execution
I have a lot of R/C things here. I build and fly helicopters and planes. I have several cars, mostly high end ones. My 9 year old son loves when I have them out, but all of them are too much for his 9 year old control. So we also have a few "kid" type R/C toys as well, for him to play with. I thought this might be a fun one to have here, that we both could play with.

Arrived quickly, and in great shape. Packaging was annoying, waxed string tying everything through the cardboard, no quick release storage here. Wax on the strings made it tough on a few of them to untie the knots, so out came the scissors.

It's boxed completely assembled, all you have to do is plop the batteries into the transmitter and the vehicle. There is no on/off switch on the transmitter, but there is one on the vehicle. The rechargeable battery for it is a large articulating double rectangle, held together with a hinge type assembly, so it can bend in half and be fit inside the top...
Lots of fun
This is a great RC toy if you don't have the smooth surfaces that most require. It worked really well on grass and rough terrain as promised, okay on concrete and not well at all on smooth floors (expected). It's large and made a real impression on the kids and adults with its unusual styling. There was a small learning curve for the kids since it steers a little differently than a wheeled vehicle, but it didn't take long to get the hang of it. The remote range and battery life seem great - we had no problems with either. It was a hit with the 12 and 7 year olds at our house.

(We haven't had the opportunity to test it in water, but will update if we have that chance.)
Know what your buying
we bought this item as a Christmas gift for my 11 year old son. I was skeptical because of all the bad reviews here on Amazon. Let me start by saying, if your going to leave a bad review on an item please understand what the item was designed to do not what you "wish" it would. Ok, theres my rant. This product has been great, Going on 2 months with alot of use and no issues at all. we did however manage to get it on sale for $43.00 at china mart, So maybe I am exceptionally happy? But, Back to it. There are alot of complaints about the fact it wont go straight, I cant get it to do this, or to do that. The design of the barrel or screw track system is where the fun value comes in. This will not go straight on say carpet or something that has no give, Come on, It rides on two independant screws that constantly battle each other. Did you really think it would? Thomas Wooden Railway - Coal Hopper Figure 8 Set

Big hit with my toddler!
Figure 8 set perfect for my 2 1/2 year old son. Perfect size for our family wooden coffee table. We are adding Thomas and Friends wooden trains each month and it's been a great daily activity for my son. I've noticed a positive increase in vocabulary and creativity during play time. It is by far my son's favorite so far. We are happy with the quality, size and overall look of the this train set.
Standalone fun
I purchased this starter set for my toddler who is crazy about Thomas along. He loves this set. I have only two warnings for parents on this product. 1) Putting the coal into the mine requires very good fine motor skills. 2) The height of the bridge is too low for the Percy's calliope to go through. I do recognize Percy is sold separately but it is apart of the product line. Just be aware of this when buying other toys for this set.
Really Great Toy
2-1/2 year old boy loves playing with this. Likes moving the cars for himself, rather than have an automated set of trains that he just watches. Best for one child to play with at a time. Track was easy to assemble and since it is a figure-8 shape it is too large for card table, so we keep it on the floor. He can scoot it gently around a bit on the hardwood floor to get a better position and it doesn't fall apart. Only the coal car and one or two more train cars can be pulled on the track when joined (with their magnetic hitch) at one time. More than 3 cars hitched together would cause one to fall off track, I believe "take-along" set is also sold, but this one IS PORTABLE! Just slip pieces apart (each is joined like a jigsaw-puzzle connection) and the whoel track, coal shuttle and cars would fit into a large zip-lock freezer bag or similar bag. Very practical, fun, durable toy!. I think it will last forever!

Fun toy that my son absolutely LOVES
What a convenient little RC car. The charger also doubles as the remote control. One advantage to the micro car is that it charges rather quickly, which probably shouldn't come as a surprise due to its very small size. The car is approximately the size of an average Hot Wheels toy, and accelerates incredibly FAST.

One thing I (stupidly) thought turned out to be entirely wrong...I thought that since the car was re-chargeable, that the remote control would be, too. Nope. It requires 4 Double A batteries. I would've preferred being able to charge the device via a wall plug-in, but you can't have everything, right?

Like I said, the car charges VERY fast, and the remote control actually works from quite a distance, too. It didn't take long for my 9 year old to figure out how to make it perform tricks among other things. Tiny but Lot of Fun
A very tiny remote control car that is perfect for kids of most ages. And when I say tiny, I mean TINY. The car itself is probably no bigger than a inch or so.

That being said, the car is great on most surfaces. I had mixed results on carpet. Seems to go forward fine, but backwards, can be another story. Also be careful about hair or debris getting stuck in the wheels. Once I moved the car from carpet to hardwood, it took me a moment to figure out why the thing started only going in circles. It turned out that a hair wrapped around one of the back wheels.

Surprisingly, the toy also doubled as a great cat toy. While taking it out for its first test run, my kitty could not get enough of it. Maybe she thought it was a mouse? Either way, I had a blast playing with the car and my cat seemed to enjoy chasing.

My son aged 6 (almost 7) is in love after trying out this car with me. When he saw what I was pulling out of the box his eyes lit up. The 4 'AA' batteries required for the controller are not included so keep this in mind if you are giving this as a gift. The car is rechargeable through the controller. We plugged the car into the controller and after 25 minutes it was ready to use. Just turn the switches on the car and the controller to "on" and race away. Yes, although this rampway set is meant to allow cars to speed easily down the twin ramps, the toy we purchased for our grandson causes the cars to careen off the ramp that winds down the left-side of the structure. While he thinks it is great fun to watch the cars fly through the air, it is not good for anyone or anything in the way of the flying car.

I called Fisher-Price to determine whether we might have a defective rampway or whether something else was amiss. They said they had no other reports of flying cars and suggested we remove the ramp section that was causing the problem and snap it back into place. This helped some, but not enough to keep the cars from sailing through the air, though less frequently. Big Hit
My son is almost two and he loves this rampway. He had the Tonka triple track race car toy but it just didn't keep his interest at all. This FP toy, however, has more to it--longer rampway, two separate ways the cars can go down, a little gas pump that makes pumping noise, plus a few other noises when the cars exit the rampway, and a manual "elevator" the child can push up and down.

We don't have any problems with the cars flying off the track. On occasion they might fall off the ramp if my son pushes them down too hard or something. But it's not often at all and it just makes sense that occasionally the car won't roll down perfectly.

On a side note, my son also thinks it's hilarious to take his sister's Zhu Zhu pets down the rampway. :)

Bruder Scania R-Series Liebherr Crane with Lights and Sounds

STOP FIGHTING PLEASE!
we have purchased several Bruder toys over the last year or so, this one so far has been the biggest hit. To the point, i think we may need to buy another as our two sons constantly fight over it. The boom is huge and quite durable. So far nothing has broken or been an issue.

You do have to stick on stickers for the mirrors on the windows, but its easy. Light bar came with batteries installed ready to go.

Just a great toy for my son
Bruder makes a wide range of construction toys and they didn't miss the target when designing this one. My son is almost 5 and he just loves playing with this crane. While he does need assistance at times (like attaching the extension) the design allows him the freedom to play and pretend for hours. This toy is on the expensive side, but it's made well and will be played with for quite some time.

We purchased this for my 2 year old son. He absolutely loves this table. He had gotten some wooden tracks and everytime someone would set them up for him he would tear them all apart and we would spend the next 1/2 hour searching for them all just a nightmare! The best thing about this is everything is connected no mess to clean up. My son has some wooden Thomas trains and some Play Along Thomas trains (metal ones) the problem with having the two different kinds of trains is none of the tracks would be compatible for both sets however this table really has no tracks only roads with stickers that look like tracks making it virtually possible to fit any small vehicle including hot wheels. My son has spent numerous hours everyday playing with this. The only time the lid goes on is after he goes to bed when I pick up his toys. I like that now I can store all his 50 some Thomas trains inside. Harold the Helicopter even has his own sticker landing pad. This was very easy to put...
Sturdy and entertaining table..
For the price the value is EXCELLENT. You are getting a table with the tracks attached so no pieces to lose! You can put the cover on and instant art table. Hot wheels and the smaller Thomas trains fit on it too. My son loves it and so do all the kids who come over to play. My son climbs on it and he is large for his age - so I know it is extremely durable (as are most Step 2 items. I highly recommend this table.
great for our 1 1/2 yr old!
I dont usually write reviews but this toy is so great that i thought i would. i know that buying a train table is a big purchase and i just wanted to let everyone know that this one is perfect. We just bought ours yesterday and my little guy hasnt stopped playing with it! I love that the tracks are in place. We bought wooden track at first and he just took it apart. Also, it comes with great little cars and a 3 piece train. Another good thing is that if you already have wooden track or want to eventually buy some you can just put the top on the table and set up your wooden track there. Overall this is 5 stars by far-great value, grows with your child, sturdy and fun!

Disney Planes Sky Track Challenge Trackset

Didn't have two planes to race
We were disappointed because this track does not come with two planes to race. We bought it as a birthday gift for our grandson and he was so disappointed. I have looked for another plane but have been unable to find one. Needless to say, the track was put away and will probably not be played with until I can find another plane....
Another Marketing gimmick from Disney?
This is ridiculous that it doesn't include 2 planes. It will make me second guess all of my Disney purchases going forward.
Do you really want to make consumers read the friggin' fine print before buying a kids toy. Why do you give them a race toy and only provide them with one plan.

Fun for child, but......
My 3 year old really wanted this to race his new die cast planes he got. So we picked it up at TRU since they are doing a promo that gives you a free movie ticket with purchase (making this cost twenty bucks relatively).

The toy itself is as expected, plastic parts that aren't all that stable in action. I put a 5 lb weight on the base tab (instructions recommend putting a book or 2) and this helps with the stability. The problem is the top sections of track arent stable still so after the planes do their "barrel roll" they sometimes get caught up and it really slows them down. This wouldn't be a problem if something held the top 2 sections of track stable like the bottom one, but with the weighted boots the planes ride on and the weight of the die cast planes, it just gets wobbly after the roll.

Now my biggest gripe, and this one made me so mad, the plane that came with it. All you see on the back of the box is that this set is compatible with the 'die cast'...

Fisher-Price Imaginext Space Shuttle and Tower

Great toy!!!
This is a great toy but the price from this seller is insane!!! Toys r us is much much cheaper.

The Good:
* It is pretty large which makes it great for two little ones to play with it at the same time
* The sound effects are realistic
* Durable - with a 3 and 4 year old it has mantained working order. Though the front closure on the shuttle sometimes gets popped off from pressure if it is left upon upon play.
* It lights up... what little guy doesn't like that!
* Lots of places on the shuttle to stick little figures.. only wish it came with more than 2!

The Bad
* The sound effects are loud... almost offensive but not fully blow your ears out... but close!
* Not enough men and such to it. This big station and ship and only 2 little men and an alien... needs more!
* It is hard for our boys (3 & 4) to put the shuttle on its little holder. Not really a fault of Fisher Price... not alot of options to have a base that holds it...
Great Space Shuttle and realistic sounds...
My son got this for his 4th birthday and absolutely loves it. He picked it out himself. It lights up like a real space ship would, it has realistic sounds when it's docking or taking off. It is very durable and just a wonderful addition to any imaginext set. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys playing with the Imaginext toys. We have so many Imaginext items and they are all built so well. They even have some girly Imaginext-like people by Fisher Price now=)

Imaginext really has some of the most durable play toys out there today.
THis shuttle is so nicely made, realistic look and sounds.
In fact that might be one of the drawbacks though. When it does the Space shuttle BEEEP BEEP BEEP, it really isn't something I think that appeals to younger kids or draws them in.
My 2 12 year old son received this and the Imaginext boat for Christmas. I thought this was going to be the bigger hit of the 2, he was all over this in the box before it was wrapped. But he enjoys the boat more and I think it is, as another reviewer mentioned, due to the lack of interesting extras with this set. Really the tower is cool to set the shuttle in but outside of that offers no real draw. There is an elevator that is interesting but sticks on ours right now, not horribly, but still a bit annoying.
It is still Imaginext and way cool and durable, would be a huge hit for any established young space fans out there.

Awesome, but a little tricky to fly
This plane is awesome but pretty tricky to fly at first. For a $30 plane it does good.to fly it without crashing there's a trick. When turning , you can't turn very well if you have the throttle up. Let the throttle bar down to about 1/4 up just so it kind of glides. Then just very lightly, Dab the turn stick the way you want it to go and then throttle up a bit and you will turn. To get back level just do the same thing but to the opposite
Get off video games
Get outside. This thing takes a little bit to master....just like video games you must keep at it but when you get it down it soars! HIGH!
Awesome remote for the price!
A present for my 9-yr old, he loves it! Need to be little to wind as the wind really impacts your ability to fly and control the aircraft. After we got the trim figured out, it flies great, would recommend it to others.

Ertl 8" John Deere Deluxe Vehicle Value Set

JUNK....Started to fall apart the minute they came out of the box
My son got these for Christmas. The minute they came out of the box they started to fall apart. The tires never locked into each other and parts started to fall off.

Nothing but cheap plastic!!!!!!
Pitifully cheap construction
I unfortunately made the mistake of ordering these toys prior to scanning the reviews. Had I given ten seconds to due diligence and read what had already been written, I wouldn't have ordered. My mistake aside, I have to confirm everything already written about these toys. They're laughably cheap, even the plastic tires have a hard time staying attached to the plastic wheels. Every moving part is made of plastic and either depends on luck, or pressure to stay in attached to the frame, mostly luck. Steer clear, save yourself some money and frustration.
Tor Truck Junk
I totally agree with the other review: that this kit is total garbage, junk, refuse! They could be so cool...but, they are cheap, plastic and flimsy. All of them fell apart almost as soon as my son started playing with them! Seriously...look at something else as these are beyond poor construction. They made for a very sad son on his birthday.

My 2 yr 8 mth old son got this for Christmas and he loves it. The assembling was not hard but it comes with a bunch of stickers you have to place all over the toy, and it can be tedious and time consuming. You also must have precision when placing them otherwise they won't be straight and once you stick it you can't un-stick it. I don't like the fact that even though he's had the toy for less than a months some of the stickers have lifted partially or entirely off the toy. I've had to throw a couple out. But I guess it's a minor thing. I wonder why the toy didn't just come with the stickers placed in their respective places straight out of the box. Oh well. The ramps can come off pretty easily without much effort, and my son seems to enjoy taking them off for whatever reason. He really LOVES this toy and spends a lot of time playing with it. Had to send back and order again, 2nd one still had problems
The first one I ordered didn't have all the pieces with it, so we had to send it back in for a replacment. This part was easy, and Amazon's exchange process was simple. Our replacement arrived within a week, but upon taking it out of the box, we noticed the wind-up handle on the elevator was broken off. My son decided he would play with it anyway - it had already been an extra wait for a Christmas gift, and he was growing impatient. It's a neat playset, but I am disappointed with ordering two and still not getting a product that was 100%.
Too many stickers
This toy is OK but nothing compared to the Criss Cross Crash set my four year old received for Christmas.There are over 40 stickers that have to be applied when you set this up so if you're playing "Santa" make sure you have some extra time and a steady hand. Cars have a hard time rolling though it and it's really not stand alone, you need to have some track to attach to it, which we don't have. It does look impressive, just not a lot of fun factor.

Motormax Take Along Fire Station Playset

FANTASTIC Concept but POORLY EXECUTED
The Take Along Fire Station Playset by MotorMax Toy Factory is a wonderful concept, but unfortunately very poorly executed. The Hotwheels-style city playset is supposed to fold into a compact carrying case that looks like a fire truck. Open up the fire truck to find car tracks winding around a miniature city. Unfortunately, every time you open and close it you have to reassemble a good portion of the playset. To make things worse, the "launcher" that is supposed to shoot cars onto the 360 degree looped track does not work as advertised -- the car never makes it onto the looped track. Finally, the winding ramp that exits the fire truck does not come with the right pieces, so it can never be assembled (and that was the feature that I knew my son would be most excited about playing with). Finally, the cars that come with the playset are "mini" cars, so you can't use your standard hot wheels-size cars with the playset. I will be returning this product at my first opportunity.
my 4 year old loves it
My 4.5 year old really wanted this toy and even went as far as to bring a magazine to show Santa, so it showed up under the tree. I was hesitant to purchase it as I read reviews that it was hard for kids to take apart and re-set up but luckily we have not had that problem. My 4 year old was able to figure out how to pack it up and does this daily. There are a lot of stickers and I wish that I had set it up prior to him opening because he was so anxious to play with it. This was his favorite toy at christmas and he still plays with it daily. There are smaller pieces (including cars that come with it) which would not be good for younger kids, but for a 4 year old, this is a great toy.
Really fun and clever!
This toy truly is a fantastic find. So many of the negative reviews here come from parents of toddlers. This is not the sort of toy you want to give to a toddler. This is more appropriate for ages 7 and up because of the intricate parts and detailed scenes that need to be assembled. This is the sort of toy that young Matchbox or Hot Wheels collectors would enjoy, or youngsters who like building toy models or building toys such as K'Nex or Leggo. Part of the fun of this toy is putting the scenes together, as much as putting the included vehicles through the stunts etc. It is definitely the sort of toy kids will want to show off to friends. The detail is incredible and is modeled after 3 major cities around the world. You might recognize some of the landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Seattle Tower. as you'd expect. this is really representative of the italia ferrari. It's not fast and won't last forever, but it's great for a 3 yr old who enjoys using it in the cul-de-sac.

Easy and fun...once you get it out of the box
When I think radio control, I envision servos, cranky wireless connections and radio equipment that only works part of the time. This car and the RC controller works right out of the box (after adding 2 AA batteries to the controller and 2 to the car.) I got this for a gift for my grandson, but I wanted to try it out to make sure it worked as advertised, and it does. In no time I was doing K-turns, spin-outs and general zippity moves along hardwood floors and over carpets. It would be a blast to race with another 1:24 scale car, but even by itself, it's a great deal of fun. The controller has a steering wheel and buttons for forward and reverse. The instructions suggest that you turn off both the controller and car when not in use, but the controller has no on/off switch; only the car.

The instructions are minimal, and you can get a pretty good idea of what's what just by playing with it. Underneath the car is a wheel alignment adjuster that you can thumb to the left or...

This is one of my favorite toys for my kids-one of theirs too! Very durable, beautiful toys. My sons have had these since they were 3 and now for three years it is one that we can never put away. They still ask for more every Christmas. My oldest is 7 now and we take them almost everywhere. We love how the boys can take them apart to create their own vehicles. They are the perfect size-about three to four times the size of a hot wheels car yet small enough to take in a coat pocket. Not many toys live up to my standard of a high quality toy, but this tops my list. It is a great set to put in a small bag for the Dr.'s office waiting room. The sets may seem a little pricey but it is so worth it. Most plastic toys break within the first year or the child uses it for a few months then forgets about them. I bought these for my nephew who loves anything with wheels. Because they're made of wood I thought they might withstand his rough-housing. I didn't realize this when I made the purchase online, but they come apart and the parts are interchangeable between the three cars, which is a very cool surprise!

Although there were tiny little animal figures inside of the "Farm Animal Car" piece of rolling stock, this is the first time the TnP line has featured removable animals! This 4 pack of Thomas and 3 rail cars containing animals made its debut on the 2012 Collector Checklist, and we found our grandson's for $18.99 on Amazon - a bit overpriced, but our order qualified for the free shipping. Hot Wheels Monster Jam Show Off Showdown Action Set

My boys love it
I can't deny the toy is flimsy but for the price that was paid for it, I never expected it to be massively sturdy. My 3 year old loves it and so does my 9 year old. They both play with it nonstop and I have to keep the 9 year old from taking it from the 3 year old. He received it as Christmas gift from his Aunt and Uncle and with all the stuff my three boys got it is one of the first toys he grabs for daily. My children have never thrown a fit with a toy not working. Instead, they have figured out how to make it work. They learned there are certain angles the ramp has to be to work. They also figured out blocks can make it more sturdy. I've paid way more money for other products that held up less then this Monster Jam toy. I'm very happy with the storage ability with the trucks. My boys can easily travel with this toy.

Not flimsy at all
We've had no issues with flimsieness or with this toy falling apart. It's made for 2 trucks to roll down it and it does that perfectly. Now it does not hold up to our 3 year old applying pressure to cars/trucks when he tries to push cars up or down the track, but then again it's not made for that.

My only complaint is that it only stores 6 trucks UNLESS you have hooks for the side storage. Then you get the 10 truck capacity. The hooks are not included and I've not been able to find them for purchase.
No hooks? No problem! (make your own)
A common complaint about this ramp is that the hooks it is shown with is do not come with it - they are sold separately with certain trucks, not on their own. I couldn't find them, and while annoying, I decided to fix the problem. Here's how: go to any hardware/home improvement store and go to the electrical section. You're looking for 1-1/4" Two-Hole Straps. They're made to secure a pipe conduit to wood with a couple screws. They're made of thin-gauge steel, and the edges are not sharp to worry about. Buy eight of them (I got two 4-packs for super cheap, use two per truck hook) and if you have two pliers at home and a little patience, you can bend them to work perfectly as the hooks. I don't have any set instructions to follow - I just brought up the picture of the truck on a hook (find it on the Amazon page) and started playing around with it. A half hour later, 4 trucks were hanging on hooks and my son was ecstatic.

The Bruder line of toys on average are not small, but this skid steer is one of the smaller toys they make. Realistic Water, 16oz

Easy no fuss diorama water
Adding water effects to a diorama takes it to the next level. Lots of different products like casting resin look great but are labor intensive (adding and measuring catalyst) but this product is simple: pour and let it dry. Non-toxic and easy to use.
If you make dioramas and want to add water this is perfect. Looks great when completed and is easy to work with. Just pour it in 1/8 inch layers and wait 24 hours between pourings.

Works very well with minimal work. Simple directions that yield great results. Takes a little while to dry, but well worth the wait.

Update for clarification:
Three things you should know that my husband did not realize when I gave it to him:
1.Do not shake the container--as you shake it, it heats and could start to harden in the bottle;
2.The viscosity of this stuff is not very high, so the best thing to do is add one thin coat at a time to avoid making a mess (Note: when we say thin, we mean less than 5mm or 1/4 in, closer to 3mm or 1/8 in)--think similar to polyurethane coating;
3.DO NOT put this stuff directly on styrofoam. It is primarily used for model railroad terrain and not historical miniature terrain. You can use it on the styrofoam hexes, but you will have to seal the styrofoam first with a really good water-based paint or a thin but uniform coating of elmer's glue. Cars Toon Monster Truck Wrastlin' Ring

Wrastlin fun!
AS soon as my 4 1/2 year old saw this, he had to have it! He loves it! My only complaint is the quality of frightning 'mcmean'. The lightning bolts on the body of the car are just stickers. We've had this toy less than 24 hours and all of the stickers are starting to peel off :( I am not sure why it wasn't made painted on like all of the other pixar cars.
The Boys Love It
When we first took this out of the box and assembled it, I thought, there isn't much to this. I thought it was going to "do" something. But my boys LOVE it! They have played and played with this, screaming for joy the whole time.

The base spins, you drop the car on it and proceed to smash, crash and hit the car! What more could a boy want? They really love it so it was a great purchase.

He Just Loves This Toy!
Our three-year-old boy just loves heavy-duty equipment. He's just fascinated! Every Friday morning we go out to watch the garbage truck pick up the week's refuse and he loves the heft and noise of the moving equipment. I guess all boys are like this, aren't they? In any case, he loves toys that are designed like heavy duty equipment. As such, my wife found this Caterpillar excavator. The price was reasonable, it had a lot of sight and sound extras and she bought it.

Well, you should have seen the boy when he got this toy! He had it functioning in no time at all. His face was just beaming. The lights were flashing, Loud construction site music was playing and orders were barked out. It was backing and going forward and beeping. The thing actually sounds like a construction site. Autistic son's favorite toy. Will remember his smiles forever
My autistic child lives for this type of toy. It is his motivation for almost aspect of his life. Plus he has cerebral palsy with a seizure disorder. If it is construction themed, he has to have it. But excavators are his favorite. Each time he gets a new or different one his reactions are priceless.

Although there are not many different ones he does not have or has tried this one is so different. I wish I had known about this model sooner. I would have ordered long ago. This is so lifelike and realistic. And yes it went to the sandbox. My son has his army of heavy equipment in the sand box. It takes the stage for my child. He has to show it to anyone who comes over which opens up a line of communication for him. Heck, I find myself wanting to show it off. My son just loved this truck. He played with it for a day and a half, and than everything just stopped working. No music, no sound, and most importantly, it doesn't move. I usually research all of my son's toys, but this was a special toy from a fun day out with his dad. Hape - Your Body - Girl 5-Layer Wooden Puzzle

It was worth the cost for us.
I bought this for my 4 year old daughter who poses many questions about her body and watches shows discussing the human body with great interest (Magic School Bus, Sid the Science Kid, etc.). She loves it. I do feel that it is pretty basic and lacking some detail. I wish that it had a bit more about the arteries and veins. However, the purpose of this puzzle is more about being able to work through the different layers of the body and how they are put together. I highly recommend combining this puzzle with a good book or video about the human body. Great idea but anatomically incorrect
I had been planning to get this for my daughter's third birthday for ages - she loves puzzles and is becoming interested in how her body works so I thought it would be perfect. I especially wanted to get it because her baby sister is about to have major surgery on her leg, and I thought this would be a good teaching tool to explain what the surgery is for. However, there is a significant flaw in that the bottom two layers of the puzzle are the wrong way round. It goes clothes, skin, muscles, internal organs, bones. So the layer with the lungs and the brain is on top of the layer with the ribs and the skull. If you look at the boy version you can see all the layers and see what I mean. I actually realized this prior to ordering the puzzle but I really wanted it, so I planned to fix it myself by copying the pictures and gluing them on top so that the internal organs would be under the skeleton. However, now that i have the puzzle I see that adding even a thin layer of paper and varnish...

It's really too bad that I can only give 5 stars...I would give many more!! My youngest just turned one, and is kind of in that in-between stage where most toys are still over his head, but rattles and such are no longer interesting. This Super Friends Race and Chase ramp is PERFECT! There is so much cause and effect action that is engaging, but highly age-appropriate for him! I purchased this one because it was the most track swirls etc I could find that didn't cost $50+ It's only about 1foot tall and very easy to assemble with no tools. The only con is the orange track with green lever does not stay on it is so easy for my 22 month old to pull off he does every time. Also the little purple nob on top he keeps pulling off, so now they stay off. but he cracks up and loves it!

I actually got a chance to see this at the Toy Fair and I fell in love. I am a professional toy reviewer and even though the toy company was willing to send me a sample, I couldn't wait. I just had to get it for my own son ASAP.

Trucky 3 (Not "Trucky the Third"- "3" because there are 3 trucks) is a game in which you are given a few partly symmetrical 3-dimensional shapes and are asked to make them fit in a transparent container of a truck. The containers are differently shaped and so are the shapes themselves.

You must move them around and make them all fit and believe me, when you get 7 oddly-shaped 3D blocks and you have to fill up 2 containers with them, you can get lost. Yes, the age is 3+ but don't think a grown-up can't get stumped once in a while.

Even though my youngest son is not a logic game lover, something told me that Trucky 3 could change things and it did! When he got the game, he loved it and started playing with the trucks...

We LOVE Trucky! I have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. My son already loves to play with the shapes while my daughter works on the puzzles. It's colorful and engaging, and also very durable. My daughter is learning a lot from doing the puzzles. It's perfect for spatial awareness in a different way than traditional jigsaw puzzles or blocks. My daughter has always been incredible with jigsaw puzzles for her age and is great at building with blocks, but Trucky is very challenging for her because it's a whole new way of thinking compared to those other tasks. I consider this to be a huge plus!
Great fun and portable!
My 4.5 yr old has been playing with this since opening it on Xmas. I was a bit worried that once he figured out the easier ones that he would not want to come back to it as the harder ones might be too frustrating. Not the case at all. Everytime he sits down with it he enjoys the satisfaction of the easy levels and the challenge of the harder ones.

Another great thing is that it is decently portable. Would be a good distraction for something like a plane ride.

Nice little bus, fairly realistic looking. The doors open and close with a thumb wheel. When you move it forward it makes a motor sound. The plastic that holds the two sections together is pretty stiff and doesn't band very much and doesn't bend at all when making it turn while pushing it.

A complete set, but the track quality is poor
This expansion pack has all the essential pieces to create a large variety of different train layouts. The large quantity of 3.5 inch curved pieces is particularly helpful when working on a train table with limited space, and the combination of ascending track, support blocks, and male-to-male and female-to-female adapters makes this expansion truly unique from others I've seen.

While I don't regret purchasing the set for my 2-year-old son, I must say that I am disappointed in the track quality. I'm not a Thomas-purist by any means, but this set of track is the POOREST quality track in our set (including Thomas, Brio, Melissa and Doug, and Maxim). Some pieces had significant "chunks" missing, there was inconsistency in the wood coloring, and many of the the female cut-outs in particular had jagged splinters of wood around the edges. I had to hand-sand about 25% of the track before allowing my son to play with the set. I've NEVER had to do that before with any other brand...
Fun set that works with our other wooden set.
Great set of tracks. My 3 year old grandson plays with a wide variety of trains on these tracks. I did modify the bridge pieces so they do not fall over as easily. What I did was buy some velcro type strips with sticky backing. I put a rectangle of the hook side on the block and then cut little pieces of the fuzzy side to stick to the underside of the track. I also joined the blocks together with little rectangles of strips. After several hours of play, he has not knocked the track off the bridge blocks.
Fun set! Compatible with Thomas, Brio, etc
This set is wonderful. My 3-year-old received this set as a birthday gift and she loves playing with it and I so loved building the track with her! The set includes pieces that I would not have thought about needing but that you definately need when building track--especially the short, extra curvy pieces and the track with the same connector on each end. The hill props do slide a little after use so you will need to readjust the connections to be on top of the hill props after a few engines have run down them, but I think that is to be expected. I love this set so much, especially since it is such a perfect amount of each piece and perfect combination of pieces that I may have to order a second set sometime! The only thing I would do to improve it is to do away with the plastic parts of the set (the rails on the bridge piece and the hill stabilizers).

Haba My very first games - My First Orchard

Our 2 year old ADORES this game!
We purchased this as a birthday gift for our 2 year old because it was listed for ages 2 and up (vs. the 3 and up on most games that we found) AND because it has no 'characters' (Elmo, etc,etc). It is a simple game and our daughter picked up on the 'rules' within 10 minutes. We love that it is a teamwork game (players vs. the "raven") rather than having one winner. It covers colors, organization (setting the game up), taking turns, and rolling a dice. We have played it more than three times daily for a month solid, so it does not lose its appeal after one or two days.
Much better than I anticipated
I am so happy with this game! It looked like fun and had good reviews so I bought it for my 2-year olds birthday a couple of days ago.

The pieces looked pretty tiny on the box as the only reference is a die and I thought it was a regular sized die. When the game arrived it was a jumbo-die so everything was much bigger (and better!) than I expected.

Big, durable wooden pieces, educational and fun. My daughter loves it. She helps me set it up and matches the fruit up with the color on the die. I am not sure has understood the concept of the bird coming to eat the fruit if it makes it all the way, but that will come I am sure.

Main thing is we are having fun and she is learning colors, turn play, etc.
Great for 2yr olds
My daughter got this for Christmas and really liked it so we had to play a game right away. The first go around she didn't get the whole idea of taking turns and started yelling "mine" when I gave the dice to my husband. After explaining to her how we take turns she was fully on board and made sure to give the dice to mommy fist, followed by papa and last was her turn. I was really surprised how quickly she picked it up.

ROBOTIC UFO 3-Channel I/R Flying Ball RC Helicopter with Gyro

Totally love this! Be advised it's not a toy for young kids, but it is easy to control once you're used to it, and durable.
I've had experience with R/C planes, helicopters and other toys all my life. I've always loved the thought of a flying ball like this, and jumped at the chance when I saw this one was going for cheap. I figured at worst it would be an inexpensive loss if it didn't work out. I was wrong though.. it flies like a champ and is more durable than I expected! It's not a sophisticated unit but you can have lots of fun once you get used to it.

I have had a few rc choppers way more expensive than this, and this is a good buy. Don't confuse it as easy to fly due to its' simple form. But it is fun. I got 2 for the kids. Now here is the bummer, the directions are terrible and non-informative. If you need to change the IR channel follow closely. First select your channel on the handset, next turn the handset on. Then turn on the helo and it will search for your channel, the handset light will stop blinking once they are linked. To set up the next one I might go out of IR range/line of sight with the first one. Good Luck and look out for ceiling fans.
Excellent training model for rookie r/c pilots
This heli is not about form (lets face it, despite how they play up the odd shape it is ugly and lacks the "gee-whiz factor" of the realistic scale model competition) nor is about function (it is far less advanced for the price than many other copters on the market), it is about survivability. This is not the same as durability as this can break, but rather is less likely to break due to rookie mistakes. In addition to physically surviving crashes it will typically land right side up allowing immediate take-off again, perfect for the learning beginner who spends more time on the ground than in the air.

Although the control difficulty is probably closer to the hard end of moderate it is still one of the best "training wheels" mini r/c helicopters around. It fights you just enough to teach you how to handle such situations as trim control, air drafts, and IR interference without the high risk of damaging the toy or household objects. Cars Space Mission Adventure with Moon Mater and DVD Set

If your child is a fan of Mater's Tall Tales then Roger is a necessity! My 4 year-old is in love with Disney Cars and when the astronaut characters from Mater's Tall Tales came out in stores his first question was "Did they make Roger?". Since he was impossible to find in stores I decided to order from Amazon.

We're saving this for Christmas but my husband and I already played with it in the box when it arrived in the mail. Roger is awesome! He's a well-built space shuttle and the little "flames" on his back-end light up. Roger says the same phrases as in the Mater Tales sketch which makes it all the cooler. The phrase "Roger Dodger Roger" has pretty much become a staple in our house. Can't wait to watch the new sketches on the DVD. Not sure who is going to enjoy this toy more!

Anyway, my son was thrilled on Christmas morning, (we have video of him yelling "Santa brought me a ROCKET!" and jumping up and down) and he still plays with this daily months after Christmas.

My only grip is that the vertical fin does not stay on well. It comes in the box detached and it does not permanently affix to the rocket. My son has lost his fin and gets upset because we can't find it. If we do it'll be Super Glue to the rescue... but just watch out for that! Otherwise great toy, solid 4 stars. The DVD is cool too!
2.5 Year Old Boy's Favorite Toy for 2 months so far.
My 2.5 year old son got this in his Easter basket this year, and since then has played with it at least once every day. He has several other Mater toys, but "Moon Mater" is the best. His 4 year old sister also enjoys this toy, and plays with the space shuttle when her brother lets her.

The movie that comes with the toy is short, but both my son and his 4 year old sister enjoy it.

The toy is very cute, and durable. My one annoyance with the toy is that the little fin on the top of the shuttle pops off frequently (which sends my son running over to me, to "fix it"). It pops right back in place, so it seems like the part comes off by design either for safety or to prevent actual breakage of the toy.

There isn't really an educational value to the toys itself, but it has sparked an interest in "space" with my son, and he has been asking us to read about space shuttles and space to him, perhaps motivated by playing with this toy.
